Homemade hemp milk is surprisingly tasty! Thankfully making it yourself is really easy, and means you benefit from more of the omega 3 fats, protein, magnesium, calcium and iron.
Did you know that hemp seeds don't contain any of the anti-nutrient, phytic acid? This means it's gentler on the gut and won't stop you absorbing the goodness it contains.
It's great for pouring over cereals, adding to smoothies and for baking. Or why not add to raw cacao and natural sweetener to make some hot chocolate - the hemp seeds and cacao deliver a healthy dose of magnesium to help combat stress and keep you feeling relaxed.
To make the milk Just take half a cup of cracked hemp seeds. Pop into a high speed blender (e.g. nutri bullet) and add 1.5 cups water. You can add a pinch of sea salt, vanilla extract and raw honey if you like. Blend for a few minutes until creamy, then just pass through a fine-mesh sieve into a jug and enjoy.
