I love making this milk on cold mornings or evenings when I'm looking for something to soothe and comfort my system. It's also a fantastic option for kids who seem to need a warm drink to help them settle before bed.
But it delivers much more than just comfort on an emotional level - it also nourishes on a physical level, containing ingredients that bring multiple health benefits. These include antioxidant-rich, anti-inflammatory and blood sugar balancing cinnamon; protein-rich, strengthening and healing collagen; and low GI and nutrient-dense Sugavida palmyra jaggery, a traditional Ayurvedic sweetener with a rich caramel flavour. I like to make it with my homemade coconut milk because the mild, creamy flavour works so well, but you can make it with whatever milk you fancy.
Cupful of your milk of choice
Small pinch of salt
1 tsp Sugavida palmyra jaggery (you could use maple syrup or raw honey instead)
1/2 tsp Ceylon cinnamon
2 tsp collagen peptides powder (aka collagen hydrosylate)
Heat your milk gently in a saucepan with the pinch of salt added, then when it's warm enough to enjoy, transfer to a blender and add the rest of the ingredients. Blend for around 10 seconds until everything is well incorporated and the milk is frothy.
