What is Nutritional Therapy?

‘When diet is wrong, medicine is of no use. When diet is correct, medicine is of no need’ Ayurvedic Proverb

Nutritional Therapy helps to pinpoint underlying causes, unhelpful patterns and restore balance, promoting the right conditions in the body for healing to take place. It can identify the right changes for you to make in order to make progress and feel better, reducing confusion and overwhelm about vast array of conflicting dietary information available.

Working with a qualified nutritional therapist can help address a wide range of health concerns, and includes a detailed case history to get to know you better - this is a crucial part of getting to the root of your health problems so you can feel better, faster. As well as looking at diet, lifestyle factors are also closely considered, including stress, movement and sleep. Supplements or laboratory testing may be recommended depending on your dietary history, symptoms, health conditions and goals.

How I work

I work from a functional medicine and naturopathic perspective, looking at the body as a whole and appreciating the complex interplay between all bodily systems. I also respect the incredible uniqueness of each individual, both in their biochemistry and their day to day routines and circumstances. This means that any advice or recommendations that I make are done so in a way to be useful, achievable and realistic. The pace must be right for each individual, and step by step is often better for long term success than an all-in, cold turkey approach.

I work in collaboration with my clients, it is a partnership and one that requires a commitment, a willingness to change and a readiness to move forward into health and vitality.

My specialist areas

While I have experience of working with a wide range of health conditions and specialised diets, over the 10 years I've been working as a nutritional therapist, I've developed a particular interest in certain areas of health - menopause (including peri-menopause) and skin health

I offer online packages within these areas, enabling me to really dive deep into the factors that surround these particular areas of health and explore the root causes for each individual, creating a personalised plan designed to restore balance.

Your nutritional therapy package - £250

  • You'll receive a comprehensive questionnaire and food diary to fill in before our first scheduled consultation, which allows me to get to know you and help uncover some of the root causes of your health concerns.

  • On the agreed day, we'll talk online via a video consultation for 90 minutes, during which we'll discuss your health concerns, medical history, diet and lifestyle in more detail, as well as your goals.

  • After the consultation I'll prepare a personalised report, alongside a meal plan to guide you, with recipes and relevant handouts tailored to you and your goals.

  • Depending on your health concerns and your goals, I may recommend laboratory testing or supplements, the cost of which are not included in the package price.

  • After approximately four weeks, we'll talk again for 45 minutes to review your progress and discuss any test results.
